Members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council recently paid a courtesy call at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Bwari. The visit, which was aimed at strategizing partnership on quality education with the Board, was led by the Union’s FCT council chairperson, Paul Ella Abechi.
Speaking on behalf of the Union, Mr. Abechi praised the Registrar for all his efforts and achievements since he assumed office as Registrar/Chief Executive of the Board. He prayed that the Union could also align itself with the success story of the Board in the area of being used as a medium to propagate the achievements of the Board especially with the latest innovation that is the introduction of the Computer Based Testing (CBT) in the Board’s testing. He said “your strides and innovations as always being celebrated but more importantly for Nigerians, through our council to know the import focus and deliverables of JAB under your watch.
He stated that such innovation has put the nation’s education sector on the global map for educational test development. While receiving the Union, the Registrar/Chief Executive of the Board, Prof. ‘Dibu Ojerinde thanked them for the honour vested upon him and the Board as a whole and pledge the Board’s support to the Union; adding that the country today needs young and vibrant people who would enlighten the people because once the people are enlightened, they would be better educated.
