The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University Professor Samuel Bandele has commended the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the various innovations and achievement aimed at improving the education sector. The Vice-Chancellor made this commendation when he led a 5-man management of the university to the headquarters of JAMB in Bwari- Abuja. Prof. Bandele said JAMB could compete favourably with any examination body in the world considering the innovation it has churned out under the leadership of Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde. Worthy o note among these numerous innovations according to the erudite scholar was the Compute Based Test, which he said, was capable of solving the problem of examination malpractice and restore confidence and integrity in the sector.
He pointed out his mission in JAMB was to collaborate with the Board on its consolidated efforts particularly on Computer Based Test (CBT) by making the University a test hub, with state of the art computers and facilities. Other areas o collaborative interest include the school’s desire to establish test measurement and evaluation department; “we need the help of JAMB in this regard” he said. The seasoned Vice-Chancellor also used the occasion to discuss the school admission challenges and prospects. In a remark, the Registrar/Chief Executive, Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde commended the sterling leadership attributes of the Vice Chancellor and his desire to make Ekiti State University (EKSU) a sign post for others. Professor Ojerinde promised to put machinery in motion for the smooth take off of the proposed department and all the request tabled before the Board.
